No Vancies

Just received an invitation to my high school reunion in October.  I think I'll go this year as an astronaut.  Everyone will be too old and senile to know I'm not.  Should be fun.

You like humans name calling other humans in your politics? That's your level?  How about "Don the Con"?

If the law requires non conditioned public schools be closed for humane reasons, why have we not air conditioned our prisons?

Clinton foundation may be closing due to new revelations.  Stigma of Donald Trump being a former contributor has harmed its reputation world wide.

I intend to share  with you some of the great things that happen in my life.  Stay tuned. Waiting 71 years so far, surely something will come up eventually.

Politicians making a big deal of who had access to Hillary .... kind of funny to me ?  YOU try accessing your Senator or Representative without money changing hands.  It rarely is going to happen unless you have television cameras with you.  It's how politics works in America.

Look he SAID that he knows more about ISIS than ANYONE. Even the generals.  Pretty remarkable person if he isn't being a lying Hillary.

Terrible golf played by me today.  When America WAS great these things were made of wood and one could set fire to them and they would actually burn.

University of Chicago Warns Students of Incoming Class That They Will Not Be Shielded From Opposing Views Or Given “Safe Spaces”

by jonathanturley
Unknown-2I have always been proud of my alma mater, The University of Chicago, and the education that I received in Hyde Park. However, that pride has been magnified this week with a letter sent to the class of 2020. As we have been discussing, various schools have eradicated free speech protections on campus in a national trend toward speech regulation. UChicago has decided to stand its ground and reaffirm its commitment to free speech on campus. The letter warns students that they will not shielded from views that upset them or given "safe spaces" on campus. In doing so, UChicago has recommitted itself to the very touchstone of education: the free and robust exchange of ideas.

The Brief: Travis County GOP Looks to Replace Chairman

by Alex Samuels | Aug. 26, 2016
Travis County Republican Party Chairman-elect Robert Morrow

The Big Conversation

Top GOP officials say the chairman of the Travis County Republican Party, Robert Morrow, ended his tenure on his own after choosing to enter the race for U.S. president as a write-in candidate.
Morrow won the county chairman election in March, earning 54 percent of the vote and unseating incumbent James Dickey. However, he's been at the center of controversy since taking office. He's accused many politicians of adultery, murder and pedophilia, and he attended Donald Trump's Tuesday campaign rally in Austin with a jester hat and large sign that read, "Trump is a Child Rapist."
As the Tribune's Patrick Svitek reports, party leaders have made previous attempts to limit Morrow's power due to his controversial remarks. In a statement, state GOP Chairman Tom Mechler said Morrow "became ineligible to hold the office of Travis County Republican Chair," despite claims from Morrow himself that "they don’t have the grounds to [oust him.]"
A news conference is being held Friday morning where the party is expected to decide on Morrow's fate. The chairman, however, doesn't seem willing to step down quietly. Morrow told the Tribune, “if other people attempt to pull a coup like this, there will be trouble. The bottom line is the Texas voters, the Republican Party, have spoken."
