225px-ruth_bader_ginsburg_scotus_photo_portraitI have long been a critic of Supreme Court justices embracing the era of what I have called "the celebrity justice."  Justices are increasingly appearing before highly ideological groups and inappropriately discussing thinly veiled political subjects or even pending issues. She previously called President Trump as "faker."  Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been a notable recidivist in his type of conduct and does not appear to be deterred by criticism that she is undermining the integrity of the Court.  She is back at it with a new interview with the BBC.

 features the work of 6 photographers who reference this history as a foundation for their work, working within and against the gendered conventions of landscape photography. Ultimately, these artists challenge us to reconsider how we receive images of the landscape by inserting themselves directly into the natural environments they portray, either symbolically or through self-portraits. 

PictureThis! is an exhibition of work created by participants in HCP's Access and Community Education program with the Periwinkle Arts In Medicine Program at Texas Children's Hospital Cancer and Hematology Centers (both Main and West Campus) and The Quality of Life Program in the Renal Department at Texas Children's Hospital. HCP's teaching artists work with patients on a variety of projects aimed at engaging creativity and exploring key learning topics, which enables young patients to focus on cultivating imagination while learning new technologies, art practices, tools, and skills that cross multiple disciplines.

HCP proudly holds a call for entries for its Annual Juried Membership Exhibition. This year's juror is Rebecca Senf, the Chief Curator of the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, AZ, and the Norton Family Curator at the Phoenix Art Museum. Some of her past exhibitions include Richard Avedon: Photographer of InfluenceHuman Nature: the Photographs of Barbara Bosworthand Face to Face: 150 Years of Photographic Portraiture.
