Plug

=======================================================================

=========================================================

"Pull the Plug" - Interesting case. I think a family member may seek court authority to pull the plug....on my Facebook posts.

When I see Republicans take a hard stance on drug use I take it as an indication that they are lucky that no one they love (like a family member) is affected.

While I think the world would be better off if there were simply no illegal drugs, I think America and our citizens would be better off if we didn't put millions of drug users in prisons.

Perhaps why Trump is so easy to ridicule is that he is a lot like we are.  After all, we've never really had a job regulating society....it probably IS harder more complex than we envisioned.

BREAKING NEWS
President Donald Trump asked then-FBI Director James Comey in February to shut down the federal investigation into Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, according to a New York Times report citing a memo written by Comey.

“I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” Trump told Comey, according to the memo. “He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”

Congress Just Gave Trump Awful News About His Next Golf Trip

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) has formally introduced a bill into Congress that would require Trump to reimburse the government for funds spent on travel to his own properties, such as Mar-a-Lago in Florida and the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ.
Lieu’s bill, the Stop Waste and Misuse by the President (SWAMP) Act, states that Trump’s travel “results in the American taxpayer effectively subsidizing the president’s businesses.” The bill would also require that Trump reimburse the government for Secret Service costs derived from visits to his properties.
“It is unacceptable for the president to maintain an interest in traveling to properties in which he has a direct financial interest, as the U.S. government is responsible for renting space to personnel in said private commercial entities,” Lieu said. “Every time the president travels to Mar-a-Lago, he necessarily promotes his private business interests via free press at the government’s expense.”
Trump’s costs have skyrocketed since assuming office. The Wall Street Journal has reported that, of the $6 million in “campaign funds” that Trump spent in the first quarter of 2017, $500,000 was directed right back into Trump-owned hotels, restaurants and golf clubs. In total, since the start of his campaign, over $14 million has been funneled back into Trump-owned properties.
If Trump really wants to keep his promise to “drain the swamp,” he should start with the most egregious source of government waste first: himself.

Yates Goes On CNN To Declare That Russians Had “Real Leverage” Over Flynn

by jonathanturley
sally_q-_yatesI have previously been critical of the stance taken by former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.  I remained unconvinced that Yates had the ethical basis to order for the entire Justice Department to stand down and not to assist the president in the defense of his first executive order on immigration. I also questioned Yates' decision to voluntarily testify before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.  She was testifying as someone who was recently in a prosecutorial position about subjects related to an ongoing investigation where no one has yet to be indicted.  Now those concerns have been magnified by Yates' appearance in the media to talk about matters center to the ongoing investigation at the Justice Department and other related subjects.

Notorious English Murderer Refuses To Divulge The Location Of Final Victim on Death Bed

by jonathanturley
Keith_bennettMoors_MurderersBritish murderer Ian Brady was nothing if not consistent.  He lived his life as a heartless monster and he died that way.  Brady with his accomplice Myra Hindley were convicted of a series of murders of children around Manchester, England.  All of the bodies of their victims were found but one: Keith Bennett (left), 12.  As Brady laid on his death bed, officials begged him to bring closure to the family and reveal the location of Keith.  He refused and died with the secret.  He died this week an unrepentant and repulsive man.

Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation

By MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

"I hope you can let this go," the president told the F.B.I. director in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo James B. Comey wrote.

Why Did the FBI Leak the Comey Memo?

Prof. Robert English, who worked for the U. S. Department of Defense, tells Paul Jay that a deep Russiaphobia and the interests of the military industrial complex are driving the permanent state to exaggerate the significance of Trump's transgressions so they can torpedo a more rational approach to U.S. Russia relations; that said, Trump and friends financial corruption involving Russian oligarchs may emerge as the real story
